Brenda Mary Stewart

Brenda Mary Stewart, 46, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 21, 2011 at OSF Medical Center. Born February 15, 1965 in Osage, IA, Brenda was the daughter of Cara Christiansen and Stanley R. Witkowski. Brenda received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee and worked for several years at Rockford Memorial and Mercer County hospitals. Brenda was a devoted mother, daughter and sister and will be missed greatly by all. She and her children are members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Survivors include her children, Emily, Amanda and Gabriel Stewart of Rockford; mother, Cara Witkowski of Rockford; sisters, Judith (Lance Gabnay) Witkowski of Sycamore and Linda (Ben Fedosky) Witkowski of MA; brother, Matthew (Angie) Christiansen of AZ; nieces, Cassidy and Natalie Christiansen of AZ; aunts, Martha Duchon of AZ and Joy Martin (Norm) of CA; uncle, George Witkowski of IL; cousins Lauren, Allison, Paul, Sarah, and Adam; close friends, LaVonne Dickinson and Margo Linderoth, and numerous other friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her father and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the children.
