Bruce D. Ewald

Bruce D. Ewald, 71 of Rockford died Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Born February 28, 1948, in Rockford, Illinois to David John and Bettie Lucille (Lagerstrom) Ewald. He married Carol Connor on June 7, 1969, in Glidden Iowa.
Bruce was a graduate of the Drake University College of Pharmacy, and worked as a pharmacist for 45 plus years. He was a member of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society at Drake University, and was appointed as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice at the Chicago College of Pharmacy. Bruce began volunteering for Northern Illinois Hospice in the early 1980’s and was a member of its operating board, which included three terms as president. In this capacity, Bruce was a master at advocating for patient needs while being a responsible steward of available resources.
Survivors include his wife Carol and brother and sister-in-law Greg and Dianna Ewald. No services will be held at this time. Memorials can be made in Bruce’s name to Northern Illinois Hospice or the American Kidney Fund. To send online condolences or share memories please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
