Calvin R. Becker, 90
Winnebago – Calvin R. Becker, 90, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Calvin was born July 4, 1925 in Seward, IL, the son of John & Francis (Tholen) Becker & graduated from Winnebago High School 1943.Though he never left the United States he proudly served his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1958 & was a medic during the Korea conflict. He married Marion Nali on September 18, 1958. She predeceased him on September 17, 2011. Calvin was a hard worker & spent many years farming with his father. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Illinois Farmers Bureau. He enjoyed doing yard work & watching sports. He especially liked watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He also enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He donated over 6 gallons of blood to the local blood bank throughout his lifetime.
Survivors include son Tim (Susan) Becker; daughter Martha Glick, step children Brad Stickles and Mary Paquet; sisters Ethel (Bob) Swanstrom and Loretta (Charles) Larson; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by wife and parents.
