Carol N. Swanson

Carol N. Swanson, 82, Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Northwoods Care Center in Belvidere from complications of Alzheimers. She was born in Rockford on December 19, 1930; the daughter of Leo and Lillian (Serbe) Kopp. Carol graduated from East High School in 1949. She married Arthur W. Swanson on November 25, 1950. Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved animals, especially her dogs. She attended Brooke Road United Methodist Church. Carol is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur; sons, David (Gayle) Swanson and Bruce Swanson; daughter, Jeannie (Sieg) Veil; brother, Ambrose "Bud" Kopp; 10 grandchildren and 1 greatgranddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and sister, Marjorie Greenwald. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor Christopher Druce Jones officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
