Caroline Lani, 100, of Rockford died Sunday, May 01, 2011, at Alpine Fireside Health Center.nbsp; Born August 23, 1910, in Rockford, the daughter of Paul and Rosalia (Gatti) Castigloni.nbsp; Caroline married Paul in Louisville, KY on September 13, 1930 who died in 1978.nbsp; She worked at W. Shanhouse and Son.nbsp; Member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, St. Bernadette Senior Citizens and Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxillary for 42 years. Caroline will be remembered for her great cooking, seamstress and being an avid gardener.

Survived by her children, Laverne Lani and Louise (George) Milne; grandchildren, Pamela (Gary) Coleman, Brian (Julie) Lani, Mark (Lillianna) Milne and Craig (Rita) Milne; great grandchildren, Stephanie Coleman, Christopher and Jacqueline Lani, Elizabeth and Alexander Milne; and sister, Ann Linn. Predeceased by her parents, husband, brother, Charles Castigloni, sisters, Virginia Smith and Mary Jakeway.

Funeral Mass 11 am Friday, May 6, 2011 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 2400 Bell Avenue. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 10 to 10:45 am Friday May 6, 2011 in St. Bernadette Church hall. Special thank you to the caregivers at Alpine Fireside Health Center for their special care and dedication to Caroline. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Bernadette Catholic School.
