July 18, 1944 — April 2, 2011

Carolyn Judy (Kennedy) Robins, 66
Carolyn Judy (Kennedy) Robins, 66, of Rockford went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Swedish American Hospital following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born July 18, 1944 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, daughter of Lafayette and Lessie Kennedy. She married Terry Robins on November 24, 1962 in Olney, Illinois. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Judy moved to Rockford in 1966 and quickly came to love the area and the changing seasons, becoming an avid participant and fan of ice skating. She was an active supporter of the Figure Skating Club of Rockford. After taking time to raise her children, Judy went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree from Rock Valley College in 1992. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in 1994, earning the OConnell award for academic excellence. Upon graduation, she dedicated herself to volunteer work including working in Louisiana to assist survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Judy was a voracious learner and enjoyed reading, genealogy, and travel. She carried herself with the same incomparable grace, courage, and indomitable spirit in her battle with Multiple Myeloma that she displayed throughout her entire life. Her selfless spirit and compassion will be sorely missed by all of those she touched.
