Charles "Chuck" Richard Poffenbaugh

Charles “Chuck” Richard Poffenbaugh, 85, Rockford, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 27, 2022. He was born on July 13, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Charles Wesley and Marion Kathryn (Kerwin) Poffenbaugh. He received a master's degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. Chuck married Carolyn Culbertson on November 9, 1963, in Toledo, OH. He worked for Sundstrand Corporation for many years retiring as the Advertising Manager. He then worked at Pioneer Life Company. Chuck was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Carolyn; his son, Mark (Suzanne) Poffenbaugh of Muscatine, IA; his grandchildren, Samuel (Ariel), Micaiah (Jessica), Ana, and Lydia; his great grandson, Hunter; his sisters, Carole Bennett and Charlene (Winston) Clayton; his brother, Terrance (Gretchen) Poffenbaugh; his sister-in-law, Nancy Poffenbaugh. Predeceased by his parents, his son, Michael Joseph, and his brother, Christopher.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Rockford with Reverend James Canova officiating. Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
