Charles D. Reiter Jr.

Charles “Chuck” D. Reiter Jr., 68, of Rockford, IL passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, on his 68th birthday. Born December 17, 1954, in Rockford, IL, the son of Charles D. and Florence A. (Castree) Reiter.

Chuck was a 1978 graduate of Northern Illinois University with a degree in Graphic Design. He worked in Pasadena, CA, for several years before moving back to Rockford to work at Rockford Memorial Hospital in their Graphics Department.

He loved his work and established life-long friendships. Chuck had a strong passion for entertainment. His love for comic books, movie memorabilia, WWE Wrestling and his enormous DVD collection are legendary. Attending Turner Classic Movie cruises and Hollywood Film Festivals were highlights of his life.

Chuck was a generous, thoughtful and caring man and will be sorely missed by his family and incredible friends.

Chuck is survived by his brother, Mark (Kathleen Ward) Reiter; sisters, Cheryl (Greg) Boeke and Maribeth (Jim) Peterson; nieces, , Elizabeth (Guillaume) Reiter-Faraut, Lauren (Justin Alexander) Boeke, Brittany (Nic) Barnes and Caurie Peterson; nephews, Danny Reiter Steven (Starr) Boeke, and Sean and Zach Peterson; aunt Nancy Miller and numerous loving cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Eulogy and Time of Sharing at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Chuck’s name to Cheryl Boeke for a donation to be made at a later date.
