Christine E. (Chris) Clark 83 Loving Mother and Grandmother Rockford- Christine E. (Chris) Clark of Rockford died at 12:10 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2007 after an extended illness. Born on August 20, 1924, in Ottumwa, Iowa. Daughter of Olen and Helen (Wagner) Nelson. Graduate of Ottumwa Heights Academy (Iowa). Married E. Scott (Scotty) Clark of Rockford on June 22, 1945, in Pensacola, Florida. She retired in 1994 from Sylvias Fashions and was always involved with retail sales of womens and childrens apparel. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church where she was an active member and officer of the Woman's Guild. Chris was formerly a member of OSF Saint Anthonys Pink Lady Auxiliary, Alpine Senior Center, and Moose Club. She most enjoyed her home, family, ceramics, and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include children, Pamela (Robert) Schuckmell, Scott (Karla) Clark, Susan (Steven) Ives, Cheryl (James) Gourley, all of Rockford; Grandchildren, John, Jeff, Paul, and Steven Zawlocki, Jordan and Jonathan Clark, and Jason and Justin Gourley; several nieces and nephews. Siblings include Andrew (Renee) Nelson of Sacramento, CA., Joseph (Marlise) Nelson of Albuquerque, NM. and Mary Baumgartner of Surprise, AZ. Predeceased by husband Scotty, parents, and sister, Betty Gail. Sincere thanks to Anam Care Center for Dementia and Alzheimers, especially Bernie, and Vicki, and all the staff who were involved in her care. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2007 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Ronelo Meude officiating. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. A visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anam Care Center, Rockford, IL.
