Cody R. Stevens

Cody R. Stevens, 24, Rockford, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 6, 2016, with his loving parents by his side. He was born January 18, 1992, in Rockford, the son of Michael and Lorie (Beehler) Stevens. Cody was a graduate of Winnebago High School, the class of 2010. He worked at Taco Bell for 6 years where he was assistant manager when he left to attend Rock Valley College where his goal was to complete the mechanical engineering program. He made the Presidents list for his GPA. Cody enjoyed learning new things especially woodworking, mechanics, and working with his hands. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his girlfriend, Morgan. He enjoyed many sports and adventures including downhill skiing, jet skiing, and most recently parasailing and kayaking. Cody was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Survived by his parents, Mike and Lorie; his brothers, Joel (Michele) and Tyler Stevens, both of Rockford; his girlfriend, Morgan Walker; his aunts and uncles, Chris (Bob) Stoll of Loves Park, John (Coy) Stevens of Rockford, Dan (Diane Lindquist) Stevens of Rockton, and Douglas (Sheri) Beehler of Minnesota; and several cousins. Predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Tom and Clara Stevens, his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Arliss Beehler, and his cousin, Melissa Beehler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av, Rockford. Burial will be in Owen Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, November 11, 2016, at the funeral home and from 10:00 am until time of service on Saturday.
