Constance Marie Kordash

Constance Marie ""Connie"" Kordash, 86, a lifelong resident of Rockford, died on December 28, 2007 at Provena St. Anne Center. Connie was born August 19, 1921 in Farmington, IL the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Brusokus) Stockus. Connie married Julius Kordash on May 24, 1941 in Rockford. Connie was a homemaker and was known as being an independent and outgoing woman. She and Julius traveled throughout the U.S., Spain, London, Paris, Australia, Italy, China, Japan and Alaska. She loved golf, bowling, shopping and especially spending time with her family. Connie was a member of Holy Family Womens Guild, Holy Family Dinner Club, the 500 Club, the Monday Noon Don Carter Bowling League, the Lithuanian Club and former active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Connie is survived by her son, Gary (Sheila) and Joe (Valerie) Kordash; her grandchildren, Sarah (Brent) Anderson of Naperville, Laura (Brian) Honda of Chicago, Andrew Kordash of Rockford, Joey Kordash of Chicago and Carrie (Chris) Kline of Rockford: her great-grandchildren, Jenna and Grace Anderson, Luke Honda and Mckenzie Kline; her sister-in-law, Muriel Stochke, her brother-in-law, John (Gloria) Kordash and many nieces and nephews. Constance was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Julius who died Jan.5, 2001, her sister Ella Allison; her brother Joe Stochke and her two brothers-in-law Jack (Hattie) and Bob (Ann) Koontz. Connies Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Provena St. Anne Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2007 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas E. Bales Officiating with a visitation from 10 am until time of Mass. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 4777 E. State St, Rockford, IL 61108.
