Brien,  57 of Rockford died Tuesday,  January 13,  2009 at 2:40 p.m. at OSF St.  Anthony Hospital .  Born June 5, 1951 to Oliva and Loretta (Buchard) Brien.  Married Linda (Darby) Brien on April 18, 1970. Survivors include; wife, Linda; Son, David M.  Brien; Daughter, Jennifer L.  (William A.)  Kinder.  Granddaughters; Isabella, Gwendolyn and Madelyn.  Brothers and Sisters;  Arthur (Martha) Brien,  Carol Hollerud (Rodney Hielkema), Ray (DeAnn) Brien,  Steve (Jan) Brien,  Oliva (Judy) Brien,  Robert Brien,  James (Debra) Brien,  John (Laura) Brien,  Dawna (Steve) Hillary,  Sheryl (Scott) Otterson,  William (Penny) Brien.  Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Predeceased by his parents, Oliva and Loretta Brien and brother William Brien.He loved bowling with his best friend and Brother Jim, golfing with his nephew Jason and good friend Mitch Hubbard.  He will be greatly missed by all, especially by his 3 granddaughters, Bella, Gwen, and Maddy, who were the love and light of his life.Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St.  Bridget Catholic Church with Father Brian A. Olsen officiating.  Visitation will be Friday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory , 1860 S. Mulford Road .  Visitation also from  9 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave ,  Loves Park .  Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery .
