Cris C. Snyder

Cris Casey Snyder “CMFS”, 57, of Rockford, passed away Monday, March 21st 2022. Cris was born May 14, 1964, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Robert and Suzanne (Warr) Schafman. Cris worked as a Plasterer for 25 plus years. Cris enjoyed fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers play, spending time with his long time partner who was also is the reason he’s bald Ada Snyder, his 6 children, grandchildren and his furry best friend, Titan.

Cris was known for being very hardworking, one of the funniest people you could have known, giving, caring and as loyal as they come. His children and grandchildren brought his life much joy.

Cris is survived by his Mother Sue Schafman, Wife Ada Snyder, Daughter’s Melissa (Ken) Powell, Amanda Snyder, Jessica Snyder, Amber (Manuel) Carmona, Emily Snyder and his only son Lucas Snyder. 18 grandchildren Kylee, Allen, Anthony "Mack", Amani, Casin, Manny, Baby Ada, Elise, Adrian, Casey, Axl, Zoey, Emery, Haedyn, Nova Rose, Odyn, Ju’Leah and Rikara. Sisters and Brothers Lori (Todd) Johnson, Robbie (Vicky) Schafman, Merle (Laura) Schafman, Tammi (Joe) Draheim, Tom wescott, Nephew Jason Ingle, and best friend Justin Lynch.


Predeceased by his father Robert Schafman, Brother Bruce Schafman, sisters Deb Bauer, Lisa Wescott and Nephew Jeremy Ingle.

Cris will be greatly missed by those who love him.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 5:00 pm, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. A public visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date.
