Cynthia "Cindy" K. Lundberg

Cynthia (Cindy) K Lundberg, 70 of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born August 26, 1951 in Rockford, the daughter of Jerry and Arlene Koch. She married Russell Lundberg on June 16, 1973 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Northern Illinois University and her Master’s degree in education at Rockford University. She loved children and spent her career teaching Head Start and Kindergarten in the Rockford School District. She retired from Walker Elementary in 2007. She loved to travel – spending summer vacations on cross country family road trips when her kids were young and traveling to Maine and South Carolina to visit them often as adults. Her favorite things were reading, going to the movies (and getting popcorn!), bargain hunting at garage sales and volunteering at Midway Village Museum where she fell in love with sock monkeys.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Mario) McGuire; son Daniel (Laura) Lundberg and granddaughters: Harper, Wren, Haylee, Kyla and Keira; siblings: Marlene McDonald, Rick Koch, Cheryl Cravens and John Gordon and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and husband Russell.

Funeral service at 10 am Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road with burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Monday, April 25th in Fitzgerald Funeral home, Mulford Chapel.
