Daniel R. Graettinger

Daniel R. Graettinger, 51, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

Dan was born March 27, 1967, son of Dennis and Margaret (Judge) Graettinger. He graduated from St. Peter High School in Minnesota, class of 1985. Dan worked with Discovery Corps for over 10 years. He was devoted to his Christian life, and was especially close with his family and friends. Dan was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He will be greatly missed.

Survived by his loving parents of Rockford; brothers, Timothy (Caroline) Graettinger of Canonsburg, PA and Thomas Graettinger of Boise, ID; sister, Martha (Patrick) Michelson of Bloomington, IN; nephew, Peter Michelson; many aunts , uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents; and sister, Jane.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road., Rockford, IL 61108. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, at Forest Hills Evangelical Free Church 5183 Pebblecreek Trail, Loves Park, IL 61111 with Pastor Greg Norwine officiating. Private family burial will follow in Oakwood Cemtery, Dixon, IL 61021. Memorials may be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Dan’s memory.
