David Alan Nelson

David Alan Nelson, 70 years old, of Winnebago, IL passed away in his home of natural causes on June 22, 2021. David was born February 18,1951, in Turner County, South Dakota. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Arts from Cal State University in Long Beach. He went on to actively work in the Radio industry. Working for radios all over, but most known for his work at WMCW 1600 with former wife and lifelong friend Mianne Nelson, US 99.5, 104.9 the X, 97ZOK, and many more. When he retired he started work with Primerica and helped at Food for Fuel delivering food. He enjoyed being an active member at Heartland Community Church, volunteering with the tech team there and also being on the board of his community in Westlake Village. He most loved being a father and a loving grandpa. David is survived by his daughter, Dana Nelson and his son, Matthew Nelson; his grandkids, Dominick, Alexa, Jessica, and Aubrey; his brother, Dean Nelson and his family and his sister Diane Nelson and her family. He was predeceased by his parents, Newell and Betty Nelson. For those wanting to pay respects, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
