David W. Jarvis

David W. Jarvis, 56, of Machesney Park, passed away January 21, 2021. He was born on March 11, 1964, in Rockford, to Danny E. and Joyce A. (Baney) Jarvis.

David was a veteran of U.S. Army. He married Kathy Presho on 01/01/2001. Dave was a part of the Jarvis Construction family and worked for Carpenters Local Union 792, he was a journeyman carpenter, handyman and Jack-of-All-Trades, assisting many family members and friends with housing related decisions. David enjoyed fishing, Chicago Bears football, lottery tickets, wood carving and whittling, had a green thumb and loved gardening and landscaping. David enjoyed traveling and loved nature’s beauty. He had a deep love and appreciation for all animals, especially dogs. He was incredibly proud of the kid’s educational and trade accomplishments and their work ethic. Dave loved how they always sought his advice when making decisions. David’s center of attention was his grandchildren. He was a friend of Bill W. and a loyal and dedicated friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kathy; parents Danny Jarvis and Joyce Vance; children Matt Jarvis, Andrew (Sierra) Jarvis, Jacqueline (Kris) Cabrera and Eric Engstrom; grandchildren, Emersyn and Asher Jarvis and Roman, Elaina and Remi Cabrera; brother, Donny (Niki) Jarvis; sisters, Tia (Steve) Nespor and Jody Miles and several nieces and nephews and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family extends a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, the UW Carbone Cancer Center GU Group and his brother Donny for his special treats and support.
