Delores Irene Carlyle, 82, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Morning Star Village following a lengthy illness. She was born June 9, 1933, in Cadillac, Michigan, the daughter of James and Florence McClinchey. Delores married Clark Carlyle on October 3, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan. He passed away, in Rockford, on January 16, 2011. Delores enjoyed working at Wesley Willows Retirement Home where she was an activity director for 10 years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Delores loved gardening, playing cards, and was known for her sassy sense of humor. She was a friend to all who knew her and had many special friends. Most of all, Delores loved spending time with her family. She spent the last 2 months of her life at Morning Star Village, where she enjoyed giving the staff a hard time! She greatly appreciated the staff and the exceptional care she received there. The family would like to thank Pastor Laura Barkley for her kindness and support. A special thank you to Mila Fomina, a wonderful friend and caregiver, for her unconditional love, patience, and prayers over the past few years.
Survived by her sons, James Carlyle of Grand Rapids, MI and Kenneth (Jennie) Carlyle of Clearwater, FL; her daughter, Lisa (Clint Shelley) Graydon of Rockford; her grandchildren, Trevor (Meleah) Carlyle, Alyssa (Bryan) McCarthy, and Taylor Graydon; her sister, Kathryn McClinchey; her brother, William (Genia) McClinchey; many nieces and nephews and many special friends. Predeceased by her husband, Clark, her parents, her brother and his wife, John and Maria McClinchey.
Private family burial in Scandinavian cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd, Rockford, IL 61107. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
