Donata Povalitis of Rockford passed away Friday March 15, 2013 in River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born December 7, 1917 in Beloit WI. The daughter of Sebastian and Maria Alis. She married Peter Povalitis in St Anthony Church on September 14, 1940, Peter predeceased her in 2002. She worked for 30 years at Lenz Pharmacy. Member of St Anthony Church, Lithuanian Club, Machesney Park Walkers and the Loves Park Women’s Club. Survivors include her children, Beth Gusloff, Patricia (Joe) Stevens and Peter (Carol) Povalitis. Grandchildren, Roger (Linda) Gusloff, F. Scott (Denise) Gusloff, Christopher (Gina) Gusloff, Joseph (Mindy) Stevens, Jennifer (Shandon) Nixon, Ryan (Dave Naso) Stevens, Matthew (Amanda) Povalitis and Nick (Catherine) Povalitis. 17 Great grandchildren and sister Josephine Baranauski. Her special friends, Lorraine Severson and Anne Treadman. Numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband Peter, Daughter Mary Annette Povalitis. Sister, Katie Buchmann, Brother, John Alis. Son-in-law Roger Gusloff and roommate and special friend, Marion Anderson. Special thanks to the nurses and staff on Blue Jay and also to the activities Department at River Bluff Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am Monday, March 18, 2013 in St Anthony Church with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 1pm until 3pm Sunday, March 17 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 North Rockton Ave. with rosary at 3pm. Visitation also from 9am until service time Monday in the church.
