Donelda M. Milanos

Donelda M. Milanos, 63, of Rockford, IL, passed away on September 13, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 4, 1958, in Fort Walton Beach, FL to William and Mary (Stiles) Milanos. Donelda graduated from Auburn High School in 1976. She spent many years in the food service as a Manager or Bartender. Donelda loved working for DiGiovanni’s and Ross’s, her heart was always with them but ended her career at the Lowe’s Distribution Center cafeteria. She was very crafty and enjoyed crocheting gifts for close family and friends. Donelda loved to sing and had a wonderful voice. She was the family baker and enjoyed doing it. She especially loved having everyone over on Christmas morning to make them all breakfast. Family was important to her and she enjoyed getting together with everyone but her daughter was the light of her life. Donelda will be missed greatly by all that knew and loved her.

Donelda is survived by her daughter, Mary (Alex Bond) Milanos; her mother, Mary Milanos; her siblings, Bill (Irena) Milanos, Toni (Jim) Milanos Flahaven, and Christine (Chuck) Milanos Manis; her aunts, Betty Stone, Pat Upshaw, and Mary Johnson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Milanos, and her Grandparents.

Memorial Service will take place on September 21, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. at the LLL Society, 1515 9th Street, Rockford, IL 61104 with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to invite everyone to stay for a luncheon immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
