Donna J. Truax

Donna Jean Truax, 77, of Rockford, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Thursday, March 22, 2018, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 5, 1940, in Rockford, daughter of Robert and Margeret (Baker) McIntosh.

Donna was an alumnus of East High School. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” Truax on January 7, 1961. Donna had a great love for her grandchildren and visiting the casino. She also enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, and sewing. She was an avid cubs fan and nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She is dearly loved and will be truly missed.

Survivors include, her husband; children, William (Shelly) Truax, Thomas (Joan) Truax, James Truax, and Pam (Bob) LasCasas; grandchildren, Tyler (Nicole) Gustaveson, Brynn (Patrick) Moore, Jason (Kristina) Truax, Ryan Truax, Jeremy Truax, Tiphanie Truax, Devon (Lindsey) Truax, Anthony LasCasas, and Alexis LasCasas; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Gail (Kip) Neff, Mary Kay Anderson, and Susan (Rick) Loveland; brother, Robert (Donna) McIntosh; several other loving family and friends. Predeceased by her parents.

Visitation will be 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Visitation continued 9:00 a.m. until the time of service 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Special thanks to Donna’s sister Susie and to Heartland Hospice for the loving care given during her illness.
