Dorothy Boyer

Dorothy J. Boyer, 92, Rockford, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, in Presence St. Ann Center. She was born May 22, 1920, in Chicago. Dorothy married Charles P. Boyer in Chicago in 1942. She graduated from Chicago Teacher's College and was a kindergarten teacher for 29 years retiring in 1980. Dorothy was an active member of VietNow, Springcreek United Church of Christ, ADK, PEO, the YMCA, and volunteered for several organizations. Her love of travel took her around the world.

Survived by her daughter, Judi (Ron) Bouchard of Leesburg, Florida and her son Alan Lee Boyer, MIA in Laos since March 28, 1968, and many wonderful friends.
Celebration of Life service will be at 11:00AM, Friday, May 10, 2013, in the chapel at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N. Mulford Rd.
