August 15, 1925 — January 31, 2014

Dorothy M. Malone, 88, of Rockton passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Alpine Fireside Nursing Home. Born August 15, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Ilo & Celesta (Fields) Jenkins. She married Charles E. Malone in Rockford on July 27, 1946; he preceded her in death on December 1, 2001. Dorothy worked for many years as a purchasing clerk at Barber Colman, where she retired from in 1987. She was a great lady and full of joy. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed traveling and taking car rides. Mom, you'll be forever in our hearts. The Malone Family would like to give a special thank you to Serenity Hospice, the Heart Hospital Staff at Swedish American Hospital and the staff at Alpine Fireside Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care.

Survived by her children, Cathy (Steve) Koroll, Christine (Robert) LeVan, Charles (Joan) Malone, Lori (Greg) Schraiber and Michael (Earlene) Malone; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren, and a couple on the way; sisters, Jean (Richard) Truman, Kay Stannard, Betty Kothe and Geraldine (Howard) Harschbarger and brother, Tom (Margaret) Mallicoat. Also predeceased by her children, Elizabeth, Linda and Bobby.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Inurnment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
