Dr. Raymond E Sytek

Dr. Raymond E. Sytek, 88, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Wesley Willows Health Center. Born August 14, 1928, in Detroit, MI, the son of Joseph & Virginia (Konwinski) Sytek. Graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He married Ann Vecchio on December 12, 1987. Co-owner of Stephenson Veterinary Hospital, member of Northern Illinois Veterinary Medical Association and the Greater Rockford Veterinary Medical Association. Ray’s passions were flying, taking care of animals, playing golf with Ann and making homemade bread. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Survivors include wife, Ann; brother Richard Sytek; stepchildren, James (Patrice) Vecchio, Steven (Kathleen) Vecchio, John Vecchio, Mary Ellen Klement and Andrea (John) D’Agnolo; 11 step grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, brothers Leonard, Ernest, James and William Sytek; sister, Dorothy Sytek.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave., Rockford, IL 61103. Inurnment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. To express condolences please join the family at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Wesley Willow Town Center for a time of luncheon and fellowship.
