Earl V. Beggs

Earl V. Beggs, 81 of Rockford, died on Friday, February 16, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center of Parkinsons. Born August 19, 1925 in Cobden, IL, the son of Charles and Elva (White) Beggs. Married his loving wife of 59 years Audrey Miller on September 5, 1947 in Dixon. A United States Veteran serving in the Navy during WWII. Worked for Common Wealth Edison in Sterling before coming to Rockford in 1980 where he began working as a line dispatcher for the company until his retirement. Music and singing were the real passion in his life. He first began singing in Sterling and now has belonged to and was a past president of the Rockford Barbershopers for over 40 years. nbsp;Survivors include his wife, Audrey of Rockford, son Barry (Glenda) of Beloit, WI; daughter, Janet (Robert) McLaughlin of N. Aurora; grandchildrennbsp; Matthew (Cherie) Binzen, Michelle (Ken) Jongewaard and Danielle Beggs. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. nbsp;Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford with Rev. Dr. William R. Kerr Sr. officiating. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make memorials in his name to Unity Hospice or to Parkinsons Research.
