Edward Cyborski

March 8, 1923 — January 9, 2012

Edward T. Cyborski, 88, of Rockford died Monday, January 9, 2012 in his home surrounded by his family. Born March 8, 1923 in Chicago, the son of Walter and Eleanor Cyborski.

After he graduated from high school, Edward joined the US Army from which he was honorably discharged and married his loving wife Viola on October 5, 1946. He was the proud owner and operator of Mr. Edwards Shoes and Fashions retiring in 1985. When he was not working at the store he was busy in his garden and carefully manicuring his lawn. He was a wonderful and kind hearted man who loved being with his family every moment he could, he will be missed dearly.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to VNA Hospice for all of their wonderful care and support.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Viola of Rockford; children, Gregory (Donna) of Potosi, WI, Donald (Janelle) of Palatine, Maryjo (Mark) Perrot of Aurora, Marilyn (Bryce) Deter of DeKalb, Robert (Debra) of Cherry Valley and Sharon Cyborski of Rockford; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry Cyborski.

Funeral Mass Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation Thursday, January 12 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel from 68 p.m. with a Rosary service to be recited at 8p.m. Visitation continues on Friday at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45. In lieu of flower memorial s to VNA Hospice, 4223 E. State St. Rockford, IL 61108.
