Edward J. Bud Doyle, 90, Rockford, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born May 1, 1920 in Manistique, Michigan to John L. and Agnes (McCauley) Doyle.nbsp; He entered the U.S. Army on March 13, 1939, serving in World War II with the 32 nd (Red Arrow) Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater from July 1942 until December 1945.nbsp; He was the Commanding Officer of D Company, 107 th Engineer Battalion in Manistique, retiring as a Colonel in the Army National Guard May 1, 1980.nbsp; He served as Justice of the Peace in Manistique in the 1950s.nbsp; Ed was employed by the City of Manistique as Superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment Plant.nbsp; He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE Lodge 632 of Manistique and a charter member of the local Kiwanis.nbsp; He continued his association with the Kiwanis as a member of the Golden K in Rockford.nbsp; He was president of the Golden Agers and a volunteer for Juvenile Probation and was a volunteer for many other organizations.nbsp; He was also an advocate for blood donors having donated over 32 gallons of blood and worked behind the scenes to organize numerous blood drives. With the assistance of many friends, Ed built No Buck In in 1950 in Michigan, and it continues today to be a gathering place for family and friends.nbsp; Ed had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a joke for everyone.nbsp; He was a very generous man who helped everybody who needed him.nbsp;nbsp; He was like an Irish leprechaun with a story to tell and gold dollars to share.nbsp; He and his wife Yolanda had a 4 p.m. special date time each day when they shared their time and a glass of wine with each other.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, 12 siblings, his son, John, grandson, Shawn and son, Jim Hanson.nbsp; He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, Yolanda; sons, Tim (Deb) Doyle, Dan (Deb) Doyle; daughter, Leslie Hanson; grandchildren, Colleen Doyle, Dan (Kim) Doyle, Josh Doyle, Kyle Doyle, Noelle (Ed) Tulley and Kyle Bryden.nbsp; Also survived by great-grandchildren, Ashlei Savalla, Linsey Tulley, Aiden Bryden; Carson and Riley Doyle and several nieces and nephews.nbsp;

Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating.nbsp; Entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.nbsp; Visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
