Elaine Torti

Elaine L. Torti, 86, Rockford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at The Atrium.

She was born on June 2, 1934, in Tampico, IL the daughter of Louis and Mabel (Bushman) Apple. In her early years she worked at the Dixon National Bank. Elaine married the love of her life, George, on December 28, 1963, and settled in Rockford. He passed away in 1998. Elaine was a devoted mother and a parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park. Elaine enjoyed cooking, entertaining her friends and family, and maintaining her beautiful garden. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family of 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Ann (Emil) Toufar and Jeanne (Brad) Anderson; her sons, Jeff (Christina) Torti and Kevin (Karen) Torti; her siblings, Ruth Higgins, Rose (Larry) McCulloh, Kay Brown (Jim Malin), and Edward (Gail) Apple. She was preceded in death by her parents, her dear husband, George F. Torti, her infant daughter Jane, her sister Marjorie Gallagher, and her three brothers Joseph, Louis Jr., and Kenneth Apple.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Avenue, Loves Park, IL with livestream at www.stbridgetlovespark.org. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Private family burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, IL.
