Elizabeth Bloom

Elizabeth Teresa Bloom, 94, Rockford, passed away peacefully Monday, April 2, 2012, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 13, 1917, in Rockford, the daughter of Peter and Teresa (Zanocco) Gaspari. Elizabeth married Maurice Bloom in Rockford on August 29, 1942. He passed away on June 13, 1987, in Rockford. She worked at Illinois Water Treatment for many years. Elizabeth is a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she volunteered for the clothes closet and was a member of the Silver Shamrocks. She attended Muldoon Catholic High School. Elizabeth was devoted to her Lord and loved spending time with her family.Survived by her children, Alice Bloom of Rockford, Sharon Gigante of Rochelle, Peter (Cindy) Bloom of Union, Joanne (Paul) Erickson of Rochelle, Chuck (Laura) Bloom of Rockford, and Mary Jo (Duane) Chambers of Spooner, WI; 11 grandchildren; 9 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Angie (Roy) Harrigan and Irene Pauletto, both of Rockford, and Cornie Gastner of LaCrosse, WI; several nieces and nephews including Brad and Diane Harrigan and Jim and Alice Cebas. Predeceased by her husband, Maurice; her daughter,Sharons twin sister, Karen; greatgranddaughter, Lola Crosby; sister, Catherine Cebas and her husband, Ben; sister, Esther Gaspari; soninlaw, Armando Gigante; and brotherinlaw, Bruno Pauletto. Elizabeths family would like to thank VNA Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.Funeral of Liturgy of the Word will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 7, 2012, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St., with Reverend Ricardo Hernandez officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 9:30 am until time of service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
