Elizabeth J. Kiefer

Elizabeth ""Betty"" J. Kiefer, 73, of Machesney Park, passed away at 9:03 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at River Bluff Nursing Home. Born on September 9, 1933 in Stevens Point, WI; daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zinda) Cera. She married Norbert ""Norb"" A. Kiefer in WI on September 16, 1950. Betty worked part-time at the Winnebago County Treasurers office for many years. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter. Betty most enjoyed her road trips with her family and was an avid bingo player. Survivors include her husband, Norb; children, Marilyn (Kenneth) Ullrich, Donald (Fianca©, Julie) Kiefer, Gary (Julie) Kiefer, David (Connie Swenson) Kiefer and Keith (Janet) Kiefer; grandchildren, Clint (Casi McDonald) and Tyler Ullrich, Morgan Loewecke, Zachary Kiefer, Katrina Kiefer and Jacob (Nicole) Kiefer; great-grandchildren, Madison and Taylor; sisters, Janet Grubba, Arlene Lorbeck and Beverly Jasinski; brother, Joseph (Evelyn) Cera and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; sons, Joseph and Kenneth; brother, Wayne Cera and sister, Leona Theil. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Cathedral of St. Peter with Rev. Pierre Polycarpe officiating. Visitation to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108, with a prayer service at 7pm and also one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to the family.
