Erin L. Frieders, 25, Rockford died Sunday, April 28, 2013 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center with her loving parents by her side. Born June 11, 1987, daughter of Stephen C. and Antoinette L. Koster Frieders. Lifetime member of St. Rita Catholic Church.Graduated from Boylan High School in 2005 where she had been a cheerleader and actively involved in the music program. She was also a 2011 graduate of Northern Illinois University. Erin had previously worked in retail, and most recently been in child care due to her love and understanding of children. She was passionate about music and was extremely talented musically. She was an avid photographer and was physically active, having done gymnastics when she was younger and loved to swim and walk. She had a special connection to animals and had volunteered at several animal shelters. Survivors include her parents, Steve and Toni Frieders; aunt and godmother, Mary Lou (John) Plant, aunts and uncles, David (Joan) Frieders, Jane Stachura and Catherine (Jerry) Jakubowicz; godfather, Charles (Marjorie) Frieders; cousins, Carol Frieders, Christina (Brad) MacKenzie, Matthew Stachura, Elizabeth (Anthony) Pecoraro, Laura and Mark Jakubowicz, Ashlee (Alan) Hott, Aimee Plant, Jason (Lucy) Frieders, Mark (Kelly) Frieders and special friend, Patrick Tolliver. Predeceased by maternal grandparents, Anthony and Mary Louise Koster; paternal grandparents, Alphonse and Genevieve Frieders and uncle, Daniel Stachura. Erin's family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Kevin Gander and staff, the Critical Care nurses at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center and their loving St. Rita Community. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 in St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. William R. Wentink and Rev. Ariel Valencia concelebrating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4-7 p.m. Friday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation also from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Mass at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to St. Rita Catholic Church.
