Erma Ann Reppen

Erma Ann Reppen, 93, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2021. She was born on December 9, 1927 to Louis and Angelina DalCollo. Erma attended East High School and graduated from Alberto's School of Cosmetology. She married the love of her life, John Reppen, in Rockford on November 28, 1953, sharing 63 extraordinary years together while raising 6 daughters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Erma was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. She was a full time hairdresser and operated her home beauty shop. Additionally, Erma volunteered her services as a hairdresser at River Bluff Nursing Home for over 20 years after she retired. Erma was an avid golfer and bowler, well into her 80's. She was a wonderful seamstress, gardener, and baker and enthusiastically donated her delicious baked goods to a variety of organizations. Family was very important to Erma, as she hosted many family celebrations over the years. Erma was a lifetime member of the Harmony Club Ladies Auxiliary and River Bluff Nursing Home Auxiliary. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.

Erma is survived by her 6 daughters, Angie Reppen, Judy Reppen-Sonneson, Debbie Reppen (Randy) Lucas, Sue Reppen, Barbara Reppen, Jacolyn (Jacob) Fitzgerald, her grandchildren, Sean Sonneson, Brach Sonneson (Michelle Vazquez Tirado), Krista Sonneson (Shane Kruger), Branden Lucas (Rayna Bradley), Jared Lucas, and Reese Fitzgerald, her great-grandchildren, Kelier Torres Vazquez, Hadley Sonneson, Leonardo Sonneson Vazquez, and baby girl Lucas on the way. Erma is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Reppen and Anne Reppen, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Molly (Don) Ahles and Rosie (Loren) Kendall and several in-laws.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, IL 61111, with nephew, Fr. Don Ahles officiating. Visitation at 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Covid protocols will be followed. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Bridget's Food Pantry or Miss Carly's Place (www.misscarlys.org).
