Esther R. Dolan

Esther R. Mansfield Dolan, 86, Rockford, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born December 24, 1925, in DesPlaines, the daughter of William and Josephine (Seegers) Winkelman. She was a 1945 graduate of Woodstock High School. Esther moved to Rockford in 1966, moving here from Springfield. She married Harry Mansfield January 7, 1946. He passed away May 1, 1972. Esther then married Clarence "Fred" Dolan on May 7, 1983. She worked as an office manager for Sears for 27 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.Survived by her husband Clarence "Fred" Dolan; daughter, Cheri (Richard"Rick" ) Foster, son, Craig Mansfield; grandchildren, Kimberly (John) Dilg, Jason and Ricky Foster; 5 greatgrandchildren; brother, Harold (Mary Ann) Winkelman; sisterinlaw, Jessie Winkelman; brotherinlaw, John Nihan; stepchildren, Lee Anne Dolan, Colleen Zolinger, Dianne Forray, David, Daniel (Jan), and Kelly (Elizabeth) Dolan, Shirley (John) Khrasa and Lisa (Shawn) Rylatte; 18 stepgrandchildren; 3 step greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Harry; infant daughters, Renee and Lenee; son, Kurt Mansfield, brothers, Lawrence, Raymond, and Wilbur Mansfield; sisters, Marion Greenlief, Wilma Nihan, Anna May Dewane, and Lillian Powers and sisterinlaw, Norma Winkelman.Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Av. Private family burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Woodstock at a later date. Visitation from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. and from 10:00am until time of time of service on Monday at the church. The Rosary and Chaplet will be recited at 4:00pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Bernadette Church Outreach Program.
