ETTA J. DICKMANN, 95, Rockford, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in East Bank Rehabilitation Center. Born September 1, 1912 in Rochelle, IL. daughter of Herman and Kate Gress Pohl of Lindenwood, IL. Graduated from Rockford High School. Etta married Aubry M. Dickmann in Rockford on June 24, 1933. He died March 20, 1990. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, belonging to the Womens Mission Society, Altar Guild and Piecemakers (Quilting). For many years she worked in the Lutheran School lunch program and was known for her baking. She and her husband owned and operated Dickmanns Gardens on Owen Center Road and she + was also very well known for her flowers and arrangements. She was a charter member of the Southern Wisconsin-Northern Illinois Gladiolus Society and Lutheran High School Association. Survivors include her daughter, Marlene (Allan) Richardson, Tucker, GA.; son, Rodney (Judy) Dickmann, Rockford;6 grandchildren, Diane (Calvin) Doster, GA., Randy (Bernardine)) Richardson, GA., Darrell Richardson, GA., Karen Duncan, Davis, IL, Mike (Lynda) Dickmann, Addison, IL. and Jeff (Jennifer) Dickmann, Rockton, IL.; 11 great-grandchildren, Stacia, Shane, Chase, Aubree of Georgia, Shelby, Morgan, Brock, Kelly, Alex, Jaden and Jasmine of Illinois; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband and infant daughter, Jeanine. She was an inspiration to her family, many friends and neighbors. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Central Location, 600 N. Horsman with Rev. David Thies officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. A time of visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School.
