Eugene H. Johnson, Sr., 74
Winnebago- Eugene Howes Johnson, Sr., 74, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015, in his home. Born September 4, 1940 in Canistota, SD, the son of Frederick C. & Darline (Ball) Johnson. He married Diane Elizabeth Grosvenor on December 29, 1962. After serving in the US Navy, he became a Master Plumber for over fifty years with Local 23. He loved golfing, bowling, watching and coaching his children sports teams, and seeing his daughter on stage. He was known for being a hard worker and very proud of his children, his grandchildren and his marriage of over 52 years.
Survivors include wife Diane; son Eugene (Susan) Johnson, Jr.; daughters Jane (Bernie) Happel, and Jennifer Sederquist (fiancee’ Fred Schmalensee); grandchildren Chase Evan, Tristan Johnson, Jackson and Blake Happel, Jade Elizabeth and Zachary Marc Sederquist; sister Jacqueline Anderson; “special son” Danny Donahoo, close family friend Sharon King, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Grandmother Hortense Ball.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 pm Tuesday, May 12 and also from 10 to service time Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials to National Parkinson Foundation or Mayo’s Clinic.
