Eva C. Crosser

May 14, 1921 — September 9, 2013

Eva Caroline Crosser, 92, of Rockford passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in her home. Born May 14, 1921, in Portageville, Mo. Married William "Bill" Crosser on Sept. 21, 1940, and she often spoke of how marrying him was the best decision she ever made. Their love was felt by all who knew them, and their marriage was an example for everyone around them. Eva and Bill moved to Rockford in 1947, where she spent many years working as a bookkeeper for Bill's business, Crosser Foundations. Eva enjoyed going to auctions, collecting antiques, setting up at local flea markets, doing word searches, watching Wheel-of-Fortune, and being surrounded by family and friends. Eva was a strong-willed, loving, self-less, and uplifting woman. She always reminded everyone to live life to the fullest. Eva will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her granddaughter and caregiver, Nicky.
Eva is survived by niece and nephew, Sheila (Larry) Palmer and Bill K. Galloway; granddaughters Nicky (Brandon) Droy, Jessie and Franchesca Schiro; sisters, Mamie Lee Davidson, Lillie Lawson, and Rosemary (M.F.) Pigg; and brother, Bill Galloway. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her husband, William Crosser; parents; brother, Lee Galloway.
