Florean Bledsoe, 79, of Rockford, left us on May 22, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Florean was the daughter of Ollie and Flora (Houston) Johnson and the wife of the late Morris E. Bledsoe.
Florean was always known as an amazing cook and card player. She attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church, where her brother, Herbert Johnson pastored.
She left behind 5 amazing children; Morris “June” (Vanetra) Bledsoe, Barbara “Bobby” Bledsoe, Michael “Mike” (Cheryl) Bledsoe, Florstine “Stine” (Ernest) Bledsoe-Buford and her baby girl, Azlia (Raphael) Bledsoe-Balkcon; step-children, William H. Pearson, Linda McKnight and Jacqueline Pearson; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Sudean Morris, Verlean Bradford, Shirlean Willingham, Earslean Sims, Doris Jean Hendricks, Gloria Dean Johnson and Joyce Calhoun; brothers, Ollie (Florine) Johnson, Rev. Herbert (Margaret) Johnson, Roy Johnson and LeeVaughn Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Florean was preceded in death by her husband; parents; life-partner, Willie H. Pearson; step-daughter, Rosemary Pearson; sister, Ann Smith; brothers, Henry and Robert Johnson.
Florean always said that “Visit me today, because tomorrow is not promised.” See my family soon. Love Always, F.B.
