Florence A. Reiter

Florence A. Reiter passed away on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 4, 1927, in Rockford, the daughter of John and Josephine Sagona Castree. Florence married Charles D. Reiter on January 24, 1953 in Rockford. Charles died in 2010. She was a graduate of West High School and was honored to be class valedictorian. She was employed for over 40 years at Jerome Interiors as the family business's matriarch and bookkeeper. She was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she served on the Welcoming Committee, Christmas Basket Program, and Mobile Meals. She was a generous, thoughtful, and a caring lady to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. Survivors include her sons, Charles D. Reiter, Jr. and Mark (Kathleen Ward) Reiter; daughters, Cheryl (Greg) Boeke and Maribeth ( Jim) Peterson; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Daniel Reiter, Lauren, Brittany and Steven Boeke and Zachary, Sean (Candice) and Caurie Peterson. She's also survived by her sister Marian Bonavia; sisters in law Nancy (Gerald) Miller and Holly Inglis; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; Husband, brothers Sam and Jerome Castree; sister Rose Valiulis.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11am Thursday April 11, 2013 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 9am until service time Thursday in the church. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Stateline Stroke Support Group.
