Frank Holcomb

Frank D. "Butch" Holcomb, 61, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born October 8, 1950, in Yokohama, Japan; the son of Frank and Beverly (Brosier) Holcomb. Because Franks father was in the Army, he and his family lived in many different places as far away as Italy and Japan. He married Jean Wenger Bull on August 29, 1987, in Rockford. Frank retired from Chrysler Corp, in 2001, after 32 years of working as a repairman and was also a substitute union steward. Frank loved fishing with Mike and hunting with Don and Shorty. He was a huge John Wayne fan, St. Louis Cardinal fan, loved Nascar, enjoyed tinkering on cars with Mitch and Frank and building things with and Ron. He also enjoyed going to garage sales.Survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Michelle Holcomb; sons, Raymond (Julie) and Michael Holcomb; stepchildren, Robert Bull, Jennifer (Joe) Moore, Donald Bull; grandchildren, Jessica, Jaime, Brandon, Corey, Destiny, Julianna, Jazmyn, Madalyn, Jacob, Hayden, and Braylyn: stepgrandchildren, Andrew, Nick, and Ryan; sister, Carlette (Roger) Allen; brother, Mark Holcomb and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Gary Holcomb. The family is so very grateful to the Oncology Center especially Drs. Kahn and Ahmad, the entire nursing staff including Kathy, Amy, and Julie. Also to the OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, the ER staff, Drs. Mullapudy, Ali, and Dillon, the critical care staff, 2 nd floor nurses and especially the 4 th floor nursing staff. You ladies are amazing. Thank you to the entire staff at Rosewood Care Center. We greatly appreciate all of your help and support with Frank. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., with Rev. Ralph Kuspert officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the funeral home and from 10:00am until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
