Frank Leslie Sincox

Frank Leslie Sincox II, 85, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Presence St. Anne Center. He was born June 29, 1928, in Freeport, the son of Frank Leslie and Loretta (Gerlich) Sincox . He lived most of his life in Rockford graduating from Rockford East High School, class of 1947, where he played center and was the captain of the football team. He then played football at the University of Illinois and later for the Rockford Golden Eagles. Frank was an Army veteran serving in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean Conflict as a mapmaker and as manager of an Officer's Club. Frank married Beverly Stein in 1955, and they were later divorced. He then married Betty Fair in 1981. Frank worked for Barber-Colman Company, then as an outside sales representative for Black and Company and then for Nicholson Hardware. Frank was a charter member of the Kepotah Sportsman's Club, Belvidere Moose Lodge, Belvidere VFW Post 1461, and the Belvidere American Legion Post. Frank loved spending time at the family cabin in Hayward, WI.
Survived by his son, Frank Leslie (Sandra) Sincox III, his daughter, Karen Augustine, his son, Peter (Chris) Sincox, his step-daughter, Lisa (Terry) Burke, all of the Rockford area; 6 grandchildren, Paul Dahlen, Brittainy Sincox, Stephanie Sincox, Ryan Burke, Frank Leslie Sincox IV, and Dana Sincox. Predeceased by his wife, Betty Sincox.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 pm, Monday, November 25, 2013, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2001 N. Alpine Rd., Rockford, with Reverend Kenneth Krause officiating. Visitations will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Sunday, November 24, 2013, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av and from 2:30 pm until the time of service at the church on Monday. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
