Frank Pollard Waugh

Frank Pollard Waugh, 91, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born January 1, 1922, in Belvidere, the son of Robert and Ruth (Pollard) Waugh.
Frank was a graduate of St. Thomas Catholic High School where he enjoyed and played all sports, especially football.
He served in the Army Medical Corps during WWII. Frank married Helen Keegan in Rockford on December 13, 1944.
She preceded him in death on July 26, 2012, they now rest peacefully together. Frank worked as a serviceman for Northern Illinois Gas Company for 36 years retiring in 1984. Frank and Helen were faithful members of Holy Family Catholic Church.


Franks love of sports led him to coaching his sons teams at both St. Patricks and St. Jamess Schools. Frank developed a passion for running in his later years and was especially proud of his daughters that participated.

nbsp;The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Medina Nursing Center, and Dr. Willard Moore Jr. for their kindness, compassion and care.


Survived by his daughters, Pamela (Paul) Chojnicki of Effingham, Julie Waugh of Rockford, Maureen (Steven) Paris of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Nanette (Matthew) Zickert and Lisa (Paul) Calvagna, both of Rockford; sons, Gary (Lynette) Waugh of Belvidere and Gregory Waugh of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Eric (Julie) Chojnicki, Chad (Traci) Chojnicki, Amanda Chojnicki, Rachel Waugh, Melissa and Nick Paris, Jordan and Brianna Zickert, Meghan and Rebecca Calvagna; greatgrandchildren, Thomas, Lucy, Margo, and Kate Chojnicki, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medina Nursing Center, 402 S. Center Rd. Durand, Illinois 61024.
