Franklin F. Abramovich, 69, of Loves Park, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2009 at Swedish American Hospital. Frank was born June 21, 1940 in Rockford, the son of Joseph and Myrtle (Weber) Abramovich. Frank married Donna M. Ferrall on September 26, 1960 in Rockford.
Frank was a US Army Veteran having served in Germany. He worked as a machinist for Gates Rubber Company for 34 years until retiring in 1994. Frank enjoyed cooking for family outings, traveling with his wife and their friends Bill and Virginia Fox, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Frank is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Tony (Leah) Abramovich, Penny (Chuck) ODell, Mike (Adrienne) Abramovich, and Lesa (Andy) Showers; grandchildren, Corey, Keegan, and Parker, Christopher, Ashley, Jacob, and Eli, Big John, Hannah, and Joni, Zachary and Heather, and Preston; great-granddaughter, Carmyn; sisters, Helen Scarborough and Catherine (Lee) Williams; brother, Joseph (Judy) Abramovich; mother-in-law, Phyllis Ferrall; friend of 57 years, Bill and Virginia Fox; many nieces and nephews, and faithful companions, Ticker, Princess and Patty. Frank was predeceased by his parents; his son Scott Allen Abramovich (Rush sister, Joyce Cates, brother-in-law, Roy Scarborough, and nephews, Ricky Abramovich and Jimmy Cates.
Funeral services for Frank will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 3 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Pastor Usher from Wigginsville, Texas officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 P.M. until time of service.
