Frederick T. Lenz

Frederick Lenz, 78, of Rockford, IL died at on May 13, 2021. Born February 11, 1943 in Rockford, IL, the son of Joe and Rena (Schmittus) Lenz. Frederick was a 1961 graduate of East High School in Rockford. Frederick worked many years as a painting sub-contractor. He was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church and loved to participate in car shows in the area with his classic cars.

Frederick is survived by his long-time companion of 34 years, Rose Marie Lenz; sons Fred Lenz Jr. (Judy Smith) of Belvidere, Tony (Theresa) Lenz of Rockford, Kevin (Theresa) Lenz of Loves Park; step-son, Shawn (Marj) Sweeney of Roscoe; daughters, Theresa (Barry) Dunt of Swansboro, NC, Sharrie (Dan) Wilcox of Belvidere; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Kassy, Ally, Tiffany, Skyler, Katlin (Cameron), Kolby (Alora), Shawn (Kourtney), Andrew (Ashlee), Christopher, Brittany (Brandon), Brianna, Courtney, Victoria, Samantha, Adam, Leann, Kaylee, Chance, Levi, Cooper, Ally, Jaxon, Nicholas, and Bea. Predeceased by his parents; and 3 brothers.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation will be held on at church from 9:00 a.m. until Mass. Entombment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Face masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
