Frieda L. Mcqueary

Frieda (Fibrow) Hennessy McQueary, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2020 with loving family by her side.

She was born November 21, 1928 in Pecatonica, IL, daughter of Herman and Alice Fibrow. Frieda graduated from West High School and was employed by Amerock and Wesley Willows. She was an active member of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Rockford. Frieda was a dedicated, supportive and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother first and foremost. She enjoyed hosting family holidays, baking cookies, camping and attending her grandchildren’s events. Frieda loved traveling to Harlingen, Texas every winter for over 20 years with her husband, Wayne.

Survivors include her children, David (Louise) Hennessy of Sun City West, AZ, Janet (Richard) Keating of Lexington, MO, Kathy (Phil) Pritchard of Henderson, NV and Mary (David) North of Rockford; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Jackson, Jeanine (Nick) Fadness, Megan (Mike) Manning, Nathan (Mariko) Keating, Mary (Chris) O’Reilly, Harrison North and Isabella North; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Alyssa, Olivia, Lexie, Jordan, Milo, Mila, Rui, Preston, Kya, Olivia, Sam and Callina. Frieda is predeceased by her parents; first husband, Delbert Hennessy (1959); second husband, Wayne McQueary (2009); grandson, Jacob Pritchard (2001); granddaughter, Julie Hammack (2017) and brothers, Herman and Luke Fibrow.

A walk-through visitation will be held from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Those wishing to attend must wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines to allow 10 people at a time. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Final resting place will be in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Wesley Willows at www.wesleywillows.org/wo-we/are/charitable-opportunities/. We are thankful and blessed for Wesley Willows and everything they have done for Frieda over the years. Special thanks also the Hospice Care of America.
