Gary D. Hinde, Sr.

Gary D. Hinde, Sr., 76, Pecatonica, passed away in his home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. He was born on February 26, 1947, in Rockford, the son of George and Martha (Eitutis) Hinde. Gary married Charlotte Urban in Rockford on March 12, 1966. He began his career at Mechanical Tool and after that he became a driver for Schneider Trucking Company. He then went to Valspar Paints where he was a spotter and then worked at the Neenah Foundry in Neenah, WI until his retirement. He and Charlotte enjoyed many years traveling around the country in their motor home. Gary also would follow Hack’s Auction Co. and always enjoyed his monthly lunches with his friends from Valspar Paints.

Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Charlotte; his son Gary Hinde, Jr. and his daughter, Barbara (significant other, Donald Frost) Hinde, all of Pecatonica; his grandchildren, Gary Hinde III, Logan (fiancé, Cassandra Perez) Hinde, Crystal (fiancé, Richard Kujat) Mason, Mark (fiancé, Nicole Kasmer) Mason, Jr, and Xandra Hayden Farel; his great-grandchildren, Conner, Aubrie, Blair, Novalyn and Amelia; his brothers, Gregory (Linda) Hinde of Raddison, WI and George (significant other, Claudia) Hinde of Superior, WI; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, his grandson, Boston Alan Mason and Barbara’s fiancé Shane Farel.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. Rockford with Reverend Dean Parker officiating.
