Gary L. DeLaRonde, 67 died peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 19, 1947 to Gordon and Ann (Winters) DeLaRonde in Rockford, IL. Gary graduated from Rockford East in 1965 and then the University of IL with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts. Gary taught Industrial Arts in the suburbs and then at Harlem High School. On August 30, 1985 he married the “Love of his life”, Judi A. Dobel. They enjoyed their time together, especially rides to Wisconsin in their Fiat and trips to the family cabin on Lake Vermilion. Gary retired from Ultra Stamping & Assembly as a machinist. Gary was a quiet man who loved life; he loved to smile and laugh. He loved to tinker and fix things, but more than anything he loved his family and friends. Survivors include wife, Judi; brother, Joe (Marlis) DeLaRonde, Mancos, CO; sister, Deann DeLaRonde, Almond, WI; mother in law, Sandra (Schrock) Dobel, Rockford; sister in law, Vickie Bond (Dave), Rockford; brother in law, Joel Dobel, Winter Springs, FL; nephew, Dan Magers (Tricia); nieces, Kate Blair (Phil), Tara Dunn, Nadine Casteel and very special lifelong friends Chuck Cushman and Bob Rogers. The family is grateful for the kind and compassionate care provided by Dr. Brenda Baer and Kim Castaneda, ND and those that wrapped him in their continued thoughts and prayers. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Ann DeLaRonde and father in law, Joseph Dobel.


Memorial Service will be at 7pm Thursday December 18, 2014 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation from 4pm until service time in the funeral home. Private family burial at a later date. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
