Gene W. Hlousek

Gene W. Hlousek, 71, of Rockford passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. Born December 29, 1946, in Chicago, the son of Norman and Eugenie (Ruzicka) Hlousek. Gene was a police officer serving the Cicero Police Department for 20 years, retiring in 1998. Gene married Dolores Rybacki in 1979 in Cicero.
Survived by his wife, Dolores; daughters, Stephine Hlousek and Candace (Dan O’Conner) Mateljan; stepchildren, Wayne J. (Pamela Squat) Anderson, Cindy (Deone) Anderson Reed and Walter (Debbie) Anderson; grandchildren, Miles Hlousek, Fantasia Mateljan, Tabitha O’Conner, Daniel O’Conner, Cole Reed and Dustin Reed; in-laws, Henry Rybacki, Debbie Rybacki and Terry (the late Evelyn) Cahill; nephew and numerous nieces. Predeceased by his parents.
Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
