Gerald 'Jerry' C. Sarauer

Gerald C. Sarauer, 80, of Winnebago, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. He was born in Bloomer, Wisconsin on June 27, 1933, the son of Herbert and Mary (Kolmer) Sarauer. Jerry worked at Sundstrand in the test lab for more than 43 years until his retirement in 1999. He married Gail Mershon in 1993. Jerry loved his family and especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking walks, watching and feeding the birds and relaxing around the house. Jerry loved his pets and was meticulous about his yardwork. At a young age he learned to dance and had a passion for the waltz and the polka. Jerry was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and played softball on the Sundstrand softball team. He often met with the retirees as they frequently had lunch.
Jerry is survived by his loving family, his wife, Gail; sons, Jerry (Phyllis) Sarauer, Scott (Sue) Sarauer, Peter (Jeanette) Sarauer, Patrick (Christine) Sarauer,; daughters, Vickie Anderson, Sue (Gale) Rednour, Sally (Steve) Brown and Sandy (John) McAlister; Gary (Cathy) Mershon and Tim (Michelle) Mershon brother, Herb (Margaret) Sarauer; sisters, Marion Jacobson and Verdine Hassemer; grandchildren, Sy, Zach, Mary and Joseph Grahf, Kitchrick and Keifer Schmitz, Seth Kemp, Rebecca Ferguson,
Emily Hare, Eric, Torey, Hannah, Devin, Niquie, Stephanie, Aaron and Katelyn Sarauer, Zach, Kortney,Taylor, Erin and Nick Mershon, Chelsey Hoover and Rachel Beadnell; several great-grandchildren and his grandpets. Predeceased by his parents and brothers-in-law, Bob Jacobson, Gabby Hassemer and Russell Caltagerone. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Schiller, Dr. Hanif for the tests he ran; without them we would've never known the extent of Jerry's condition. Dr. Brin, Julie, Dr. Mao and staff at Midwest Heart, Wendy, D.J. and Raman at SWA Home Health Care without your help we wouldn't have gotten this far. Dr. Craig and staff at Van Matre, Katie, Amee, Chris and Mike at the Coumadin Clinic. To our neighbors who were always there if we had a need. I pray I have not missed anyone, if I have, you know who you are and I love and appreciate all of you.
Funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd with Reverend Tim Spickler officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
