Gerald N. Creviston

Gerald N. ""Jerry"" Creviston, 74, a lifelong resident of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born September 6, 1933 in Rockford the son of William and Maurine (Stegall) Creviston. Jerry met Janice L. Mac Murchy in 1967 while working at the Logli Supermarket on Rockton Avenue and married her on January 10, 1970 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Rockford. Jerry was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had worked as the Front-end Manager of Logli Supermarkets for 20 years and then worked in the chemistry lab at Rockford Drop Forge for 30 years until retiring in 2001. Jerry was a member of First Assembly of God Church. He loved crossword puzzles, going for walks, geneology and especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his wife Janice; his children, Jennifer (Stephen) Bergler and Joanne (Jonathan) De Lorenzo; his grandchildren, Nathan, Luke and Andrew Bergler and Virginia ""Ginny"" and Matthew De Lorenzo; his sister, Carol Patricia Lofquist amd many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William, Jr., Robert and Dean Creviston and his sisters, Virginia Haagenson, Darlene Bull and Audrey Townsend. A special thank you to the staff of Visiting Nurses Association Hospice for their kind and compassionate care given to Jerry and his family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28 at 11 am at First Assembly of God Church, 5950 Spring Creek Road, Rockford with Rev. Bob Taylor officiating followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27 from 3 pm 6 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. and on Monday from 10 am until time of service at the Church. Family and friends may
