Germaine T. Cox

Germaine T. ""Geri"" Cox, 81 of Rockford passed away at home surrounded by her family on January 7, 2009. Born August 6, 1927 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of William and Mathilda (Schauls) Schiltz. She married Charles Bernell Cox on March 2, 1946. He predeceased her in 1996. Geri loved reading, gardening, and especially loved swimming. Survivors include her children Diane (Scott Smith) Wilcox, David (Marcia) Cox, Gary (Carol) Cox and Mary Cox. Grandchildren Kurt, Alison, Amy, Mandy, Dan, Chelsey and 6 great-grandchildren. Special nieces Cheryl, Jodi and nephew Ron and other nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother. Committal service will be Monday, January 12, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials can be made to the family or Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center, 4215 Newburg Rd., Rockford, IL 61108.
